Massage Therapy for You
I use precise, slow moving techniques, often combining deep tissue with myofascial and craniosacral techniques to get the best results for you as an individual. Using my assessment and hands on skills to tune into the tensions you carry within your body’s tissues and to help you let the unnecessary ones go. My practice is mindful and I hold space for you and your body, seeking the origins of pain and offering effective treatment and homecare plans.
Massage Therapy Background
A valedictorian and 2011 graduate of the Atlantic College of Massage Therapy, I began my career as a registered massage therapist in Ottawa at Kent Massage Therapy in January 2012. I have been trained at school and through mentorship under the guidance of great teachers and practitioners, pursuing theory and techniques for myofascial therapy, craniosacral therapy, deep tissue massage, peri-natal/pregnancy massage and sports massage therapy. I continue to expand my craniosacral and massage knowledge through ongoing courses and the books that clutter my home.
About Christie
Originally from the East Coast, I feel most alive when hiking through the woods or along the coast with my dog. I have a BA in philosophy, love meditation and yoga and have always been drawn to body work, curious about what we hold in our tissues. I have been inspired growing up with a father who is an exceptional physio and craniosacral therapist. Through him I learned the power of craniosacral and manual therapy and the inner healing we each possess.
